Role and Function of the Staff Rep

  • Determining the role and function of the Staff Rep
  • Becoming familiar with the format and content of the provincial and local collective agreements
  • Identify where to go for help, and develop networks of support
  • Role as rep and advocate
  • Prepare for difficult conversations
  • Prepare for meetings with Administrators, and the grievance process
  • Reimagine site-based union meetings
  • To increase understanding that union work is social justice work

This workshop introduces the skills and knowledge of the Staff Rep as a union leader, including the framework and functions of this role including actual pointers and processes.
